"Colossus" successfully lowered to the ground

During the revitalization of the Unit A-5 of TPP "Nikola Tesla A", on August,6, one of the most complicated procedures in this phase of work was carried out. On the height of 74 meters , using a special technology (hydraulic crane), Biflux, heat exchanger, weighing over 35 tons, which is located on the outer wall of the boiler, was removed. In order for this operation goes as planned specific preparations were necessary : skilled people, special ramps constructed and more.

From the highest point on the ramp lowering the elevation 0 meters, it took several hours because the crane had a speed of only 8 meters per hour.
