- At this conference 170 articles in total will be presented within 16 study committees. The aim of the conference is to present to experts and specialists the newest technical knowledge and experiences in the field of production, transfer and consumption of electric power and to show readiness of domestic experts to respond to the challenges which are presented to electric power sector said Mr Gojko Dotlić, president of CIGRE Serbia. He greeted all participants as well as representatives of national committees from the region, Slovenia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia. He also emphasised that a great stride in the field of mutual cooperation countries in the region has been made and he also said that regional organisation of CIGRE has started to work and concrete results could be expected next year in Portorož, Slovenia. According to him, on this year’s conference over 1000 professionals and specialists, business people from companies in the field of electric power industry, designing, consulting, scientific research institutions from Serbia and countries of the region has been expected. At this, according to lots of people, the most significant conference of electric power engineers, but also from other field connected with developing electric power industry, 40 percent of the articles comes from two public enterprises in Serbia, PE EPS and PE EMS and among them there are around ten articles made by specialists from CE TPP NT.

Mr Dejan Popović, member of Supervisory Board of PE EPS greeted all the participants of the conference. He thanked to Programme committee who has included in the conference two very actual topics, which in significant form determine present and future of electric power industry in Serbia. As he said, these topics are huge disturbances in electric power system of Serbia caused by huge floods happened in May 2014 and not just floods but other bad weather conditions and also 10 years of electric power market liberalisation in Serbia.

- Total damage caused by floods happened in May has not been precisely calculated yet, but rough calculation could already be estimated to more than half billion of Euros, which would shake even more powerful electric power industries, said Mr Dejan Popović. Speaking about electric power market liberalisation it could be said that obsolescence of our thermal power capacities in the context of drastic drop of prices of electric power jeopardises economic stability of domestic thermal units, and one of the ways out from this situation is forthcoming transformation of EPS, emphasised Mr Popović.

During 32nd conference, organiser foreseen the exhibition where equipment manufactures, consulting, designing, scientific research institutions and other organisations from country and abroad could present the newest technical accomplishments based on applying new materials and technology.
