HUMANE ACTIONS APPRECIATED

The Center for the Preservation of Tradition and Culture “Thermal power plant Nikola Tesla” with their guests from GKUD “Smederevo”, held a human concert that was well attended on April 5 in SKC “Obrenovac”. The income from sale tickets is intended for the Association for helping patients suffering from serious and rare diseases “Ivan Batinic” in Obrenovac. The hosts and guests performed the twelve selected tracks that impressed many visitors. The well known COTK TENT repertoire was refreshed with a new choreography “Game of Bujanovac”, which was performed in front of the audience from Obrenovac for the second time. Through dance, song, music and applause, the performers and the audience sent a joint message that, from their point of view, humanity and solidarity are always in great price. According to the announcement of “the responsible ones,” it was the first in a series of concerts that will be performed for the coming season by the Center for the preservation of tradition and culture within TENT. Beside charity, says the Center, these events have another important dimension, which is the popularization of cultural creation and national tradition by presenting ensembles from all parts of Serbia, which have not yet performed in the capital of Serbian energy sector.

We will recall, the Association for helping patients suffering from serious and rare diseases “Ivan Batinic” was founded in late 2012, under the auspices of the City Municipality of Obrenovac, at the initiative of the professor Vlada Batinic, whose nineteen-year-old son Ivan couldn’t overcome a serious heart defect. The main activities of the foundation are related to provision of advisory and material support to ill people and their families with the aim to increase efficient response to occurrence and rare illness in Obrenovac.

The corporate enterprise “Thermal power plant Nikola Tesla” supported among the first the foundation and operation of the newly created association. When the call was addressed to employees and management  of TENT in early 2013 to declare their intention(in writing form) concerning the financial assistance to the Association “Ivan Batinic”, almost all inquired people (according to their possibility) set aside a certain amount of money from their salaries that was paid regularly into the fond account every month.  Since last year’s experience was positive, the cooperation was continued in the third year as well. As the largest economic entity in the area of the municipalityin Obrenovac, the corporate enterprise “TENT” successfully passed another test of humanity and proved that, beside the impressive result of production, it can praise with a great level of social responsibility.
