Activities on unit ТЕNТ А-3 are running according to the planned time schedule

Activities involving revitalization of the unit А-3 ТЕ „Nikola Tesla А“ in Obrenovac, are running with no major problems, according to the planned time schedule, upon expiry of one month, it was said on yesterday's meeting between management of CE TENT and engaged contractors, where the first monthly report on the progress of works on this unit was presented.

Dismantling works on boiler, turbine, generator, and electrostatic precipitator facilities have been performed in July, and delivery of forseen equipment has started as well. At the end of July, generator corset has been delivered on site, with increased installed power of 389 megavolt amperes (МvА) and worth about 8 million EUR. This equipment, weighing about 190 tons, arrived from Alstom factory in Belfort, France, to Strazbur, by truck, then by ship to Vukovar, and then by train – with specialized oversized composition to Obrenovac. Delivery of certain parts for electrostatic precipitetor facility has started as well, and spare rotor was transported to Turbocare factory, Poland, where its overhaul will be performed, and the existing rotor was extracted yesterday. 

Sveto Dobrijević, head of LOT 1-6 and 9, said that good "lap time" in the first month was recorded and a very small number of injuries, three workers with minor injuries, which is 4 to 5 times less than what was registered during the first month of the previous year. Mr Čedomir Ponoćko, director of TENT, appealed to all participants to pay a great attention to safety and protection of employees on site in the future when a lot more complex and extensive operations are expected.

Unit A-3, as a reminder, was stopped on 6th June 2014 and works on its revitalization began on 1st July 2014 and will last 180 days. The project is worth EUR 80 million, and the plant itself will have increased power from 305MW to 328.4 MW.
