New generator corset elevated to the level of 9 meters

 

 

As a part of revitalization of unit TENT A-3, elevation of corset generator and its setting in the machine hall at the level of 9 meters, was performed last weekend.This complicated activity lasted for approx. 10 hours, and it was performed by specialists from the Polish company „ZRE Katovice“, who, using steel construction, installed for that purpose, and special tools and hydraulic equipment,  lifted the load, weighing about 180 tons, with a maximum lifting speed of 0.7 millimeters per second. Over the weekend, protective armor was dismantled from the corset- "sarcophagus", and after that they began completion of stator by pulling modified components of outer casing on the corset, and finally, they will perform its lowering, positioning and fixing to the turbine foundation structure.

Within this phase of replacement, the most demanding activity shall be carried out - centering of corset with outer casing.

The whole process of completing the stator should be completed by the end of October 2014, according to schedule. It is about a device of upgraded construction and design, with increased indicated power of 389 megavolt amperes (MVA), worth about 8 million EUR. In the second half of October, spare rotor, serviced in the local service center "Turbocare“, will be delivered from Poland.
