Removal of waste materials from the area near the ash and slag disposal site at TENT A marked today the beginning of preparing the ground for construction of future systems for thick slurry transport, slag and gypsum in this branch of CE TENT. It is the amount of approximately 22,000 m3 of various waste materials (mineral wool, metal cans, plastic drums, asbestos, conveyors, metal scrap, iron, steel, construction waste, etc.) that were disposed at this location during previous overhauls.

Cleaning this area practically solves two environmental problems: removing wild dump site within TENT A, and preparing the ground for the construction of future plant for thick slurry transport will solve the problem of wind erosion. New technology of ash removal will resolve the issue of storage of gypsum as a by-product of the future flue gas desulphurization plant which will be also constructed in this plant in the future. Currently, within EPS, innovation of the study for thick slurry transport of ash with gypsum is being underway, said Dejan Stankovic, chief engineer of investment department at TENT, during a visit of the works on this site. He pointed out that as of today, any future disposal of waste in this area will be prohibited.

Removal of waste material from this dump site and its classification is performed by the company JP PK "Kosovo- Obilić" that under the contract with TENT should complete all the work within six months if the weather conditions permit. By construction of a new thick slurry transport system at TENT A, TENT will make another step forward in the protection of the environment, and thus, as well as at TENT B, permanently solve the problem of wind erosion.
