Revitalization of unit A-3 presented

 

The largest investment project in the "Electric Power Industry of Serbia" - revitalization of unit TENT A-3, the value of which amounts to about 80 MEUR was presented yesterday by TENT at the international fairs in Belgrade "Energy 2014" and "ECO FAIR 2014".

Sonja Filipović, Deputy Chief Engineer of the Maintenance Department TENT A, was talking about technical details and characteristics of the major overhaul of unit A-3, which started on July 1.

In the past three months all planned dismantling works were carried out on unit A-3, preparations were made for the installation of equipment, and installation works on new positions have begun, said Filipović, noting that the repair involves a large number of domestic firms.

According to her, the major overhaul of unit A-3 will be undergoing until 28 December, when the first synchronization of this unit to the network was planned. The objectives of preliminary and final design - improved unit reliability, output, availability and energy efficiency were achieved by this reconstruction. Additionally, it will reduce the negative impact on the environment.

Implementation of this project will provide more megawatts and thus produce more electricity. And not only that. What is important, particularly for Obrenovac and surroundings, are two significant environmental projects- new ESP plant in order to reduce dust emissions and replacement of NOx burners in order to reduce nitrogen oxides- said Sonja Filipović.
