At International Water Forum 2014, which is held from 4-6th of November in the Holiday Inn Hotel in Belgrade participate the experts from CE TPP NT as well. The second day of the conference (on November, 5th), during business forum, they have presented the work “Reducing dirty waste water quantity before purification at TPP NT B”, which has been done by group of authors from TPP “Nikola Tesla” B and “Energoprojekt-Hidroinženjering“, a.d. Belgrade. The mutual work of these two companies has been finished about a year ago, and for the first time it was presented in March this year at mountain Zlatibor, during the conference “Energetika 2014”.

“Our study concerns participation TPP NT and EPS in solving the problem of over ground and underground water pollution, especially, solving the purification of dirty waste water. We chose this subject, because in 2011, TPP “Nikola Tesla” B got the donation from the IPA programme in value of 7.5 million euros, and at the moment the main facility design has been performed where, everything which has been detected that cannot be sent into the Sava river, including the future desulfurization facility as well as from the future new Unit B3. In this way, we will reduce the water quantity which should go to the purification facility, and this means that we will simplify the operation of the facility and it won’t be over dimensioned. Our aim is to collect all water which where can be found are not dirty, but (by currently solution) it mixes with dirty water and surfaces, and for that reason it should be treated in the purification facility. Also, we are talking about a huge quantity of demineralised water (over 100 000 tones over a year) which by currently solution go to the Sava river and pollute it, because the water contains mechanical dirt, oil, ammonia etc. Therefore, our plan is to collect all the water and return into future facility, where it will be purified, and then again it will be returned into the line for demineralised water production. Hereby, we reduce production expenses greatly, by that I mean less energy and chemical consumption, and this water is better quality than well based water. The main benefit is that citizens can ensure how CE TPP NT take care about environmental protection and additional effects are energy saving, reduce chemical consumption, less number of engaged workers, easier way of facility maintenance”, said Mr Zoran Stojanović, coordinator for development and ecological modernisation at CE TPP NT.

Mr Stojanović express satisfaction due to huge expressed interest of exhibitors and visitors as well, which, according to his estimation, this shows clearly that professional public is very good informed about what is happening at and about TPP NT, what kind of impact TPP NT has on water, soil and air, and what TPP NT and EPS did and are going to do in the area of environmental protection.

Otherwise, there are a large number of participants from the country and abroad (Italy, Poland, Slovenia…) at International Water Forum 2014, which is held in our capital city. It lasts two days and at this period it is possible to hear participants from profession and science, studies refer to actual problems (Water Management – analyse the floods happened in Serbia during May 2014 and experiences of other countries, Water supply facility management and benchmarking, distributive water supply systems maintenance, companies presentations) and it is also possible to exchange experiences and business contacts with eminent experts from this area.
