DESTROYED OVER 370 KILOGRAMME OF NARCOTICS
At the Thermal Power Plant “Nikola Tesla” A in Obrenovac, 369 kg and 183.44 g of narcotics and other psychoactive controlled substances has been destroyed today. Total value of them at illegal market is about one billion and 250 thousand dinars.
In the boiler at the Unit A4 have been burned 185 kilogramme and 795.43 gram of heroin and 183 kilogramme and 448.01 gram of marijuana, which was stored in police directorate in Sremska Mitrovica.
During destroying the narcotics, by high protecting measurements, there were representatives from Government Committee of Serbia for following the action of destroying psychoactive controlled substances, president of the Government Committee for psychoactive controlled substances, then representatives of Superior Court in Sremska Mitrovica (which issued appropriate decision and directive) and representatives from Committee at Thermal Power Plant “Nikola Tesla”.
According to allegations from statement issued by Ministry of Interior of Republic of Serbia, today’s destroying of drugs is actually continuation of organised action of narcotics destroying, which in some police directorates were not destroyed from 1995. As it is announced in Government and in relevant ministry, battle against the biggest plague in modern time will conduct continuously in following period.
Otherwise, boilers in the biggest factory for producing electric power in Balkans are the only place in Serbia where it is possible to carry out this kind of procedure with strictly respect of regulations and applying of adequate measurements. From November last year, till February this year, in TPP “Nikola Tesla” A have been realised three actions of burning the drugs.
