Destroyed around 446 kilogrammes of narcotics

On Thursday, 14th of May, at the Thermal Power Plant “Nikola Tesla” A (TPP NT) in Obrenovac has been destroyed around 446 kilogrammes of narcotics and other psychoactive controlled substances (PCS), which value in the street has been estimated at around RSD one billion.

For destruction of narcotics, decisions and directives were issued by relevant the Superior Court in Jagodina.

More than 25 kilogrammes of heroin, around 415 kilogrammes of marijuana, more than one kilogramme of cannabis, and also more than 4.5 kilogrammes of psychoactive substances which are used as mixture to increase weight of narcotics has been destroyed. Destroyed dugs and other psychoactive substances were stored in the Criminal Force Department in Jagodina.

Transport from stored place to place of narcotics destruction, as the procedure of destroying itself, was ensured by Forces of the Ministry of Inferior of Republic of Serbia.

During destroying the narcotics there were representatives from the Government Committee of Serbia for following the action of destroying psychoactive controlled substances, the president of the Government Committee for psychoactive controlled substances, the president of the Government Committee of Serbia for following the action of destroying psychoactive controlled substances, experts and professors from the University of Belgrade, than representatives of the Superior Court in Sremska Mitrovica as well as representatives from TPP NT due to procedure transparency.

Following the procedure was done in accordance with Regulation and providing the expertise was done by the reference laboratory for testing psychoactive controlled substances of Republic of Serbia.

It was the seventh destroying of narcotics done at TPP NT and it represents continuation of organised action of destroying residual amount of PCS which in some police directorates have not been destroyed from 1995.

Destroying of PCS at TPP NT will be conducted continually in following period.
