Railway Transport of PD TENT

zeleznica2Together with the construction of power plants, in 1969, a powerful system of railway transport was created. Its main task: transport of coal from Mining Basin “Kolubara” for power plants in Obrenovac and Veliki Crljeni. The railroad Obrenovac-Vreoci has been extended for several times in the past 42 years. Today it has 100 kilometers of rail and daily supply of about 100,000 tons of coal, which makes it the most loaded traffic route in Serbia and one of the most loaded in Europe. In 24 hours, 60 full, and as many empty trains, pass through this route. In total, 800 million tons of coal only has been transported here thus far (more than 25 million tons per year), together with large quantities of other freight: equipment, spare parts, consumables, etc.

The traction and maneuver system was electrified at the end of 1976. In 1983, Škodas electric locomotives were introduced, and loading, transport and unloading of trains was rounded up with electric traction. The remote control centre in Obrenovac also operates electric traction plants in st Stubline and Brgule stations. Rails are first class, equipped with modern traction vehicles and wagons, modern machinery along the railroad and railway facilities... It is the only company in Serbia with all certificates and licenses in accordance with the Law on Railway, which enables it to extend its primary activity when needed.
