Representatives of Administration of the Republic of Slovenia for Civil Protection and Disaster Relief within Ministry of Defence on 16th of June visited Thermal Power Plant “Nikola Tesla A”. During short visit, 45 employees at Administration for Civil Protection and Disaster Relief in Slovenia saw films about floods which were prepared and made by Public Relation Department at CE TPP NT and once again, they remembered, together with their hosts at TPP NT on those critical days from May 2014. The Civil Protection of Slovenia sent to TPP NT two powerful pumps and crew who operated the equipment and in this way, it helped water to be efficiently pumped out from lower levels at TPP NT and it prevented greater damages of the facilities.

- When the flood wave came to TPP NT, we tried here with the improvised means to defend what we were able to. However, water came to the TPP NT A facilities and flooded basement parts. It came through channels where pipes for heating system are. When the crew from Slovenia arrived, it was already critical. Your people were calm, very professional and they started the action which stopped further increase water level into machine hall and in that way practically protected all the equipment and devices, said Mr Milan Petković, Deputy Manager at CE TPP NT, saying thanks to the representatives of Slovenian Civil Protection on everything they did in and for TPP NT during floods happened last May.

- I have been working for 30 years at Administration of the Republic of Slovenia for Civil Protection and Disaster Relief but I have never seen such huge disaster. That kind of flood had never happened in Slovenia. Our mission was to come to thermal power plant and I think we did our job correctly and well. We had worked for 3 days, 24 hours per day and with two pumps, we pumped out water – said Mr Janez Melanšek, chief of the Department for Civil Protection in Slovenia which helped in TPP NT during floods happened in 2014.

Representatives of Administration of the Republic of Slovenia for Civil Protection and Disaster Relief visited the control room at the Unit A3 and place beside the Sava river, by pump station where one pump from Slovenia was.
