Art school of Centre for preservation of tradition and culture TPP NT, under managing of graduated actress Ms Marija Medenica, achieved significant success at this year’s 58th international festival “Games in May”, held on 12th of May in Bečej. At this prestigious festival of theatrical creativity for children and young, groups from Serbia and countries from the region, competed with more than 40 plays. The group from Obrenovac performed the play “A Suspicious Person” written by our unsurpassed comedy writer Branislav Nušić and it won even five awards: for direction, for the best female role, for the best supporting female role, the silver squire for the play in total, as well as for the costumes.

- From ten awards in total, we won even 50 percent of them which is unexpectedly good result, considering very difficult conditions in which we have been working after floods happened last year in May. I am very proud to all these young people who selflessly have given themselves and how they made an effort for everything to be in the way as we designed and prepared. We wanted to show that theatre is not into scenery, costumes, make-up and special effect, but into actors themselves.

The jury consisting of significant names of domestic actors knew to recognise our will and that definitely ruled in our favour that we won those awards, actually CPCT TPP NT won them, stated Ms Marija Medenica after their triumphal return from Bečej and she added:

- We specially want to thank to Economic Association “Thermal Power Plant Nikola Tesla” which maximally met our needs into play production and supported our efforts during after floods period to return onto the stage as soon as possible. I hope it would be much better in the future, because, as I know, CPCT TPP NT has already prepare the location in renovated Sokolski dom, where we will have significantly better conditions to develop our work, that’s fore sure, and maybe even in respect of new festivals that we could organized by ourselves.
