Fiber-optic cable from TENT to "Kolubara"

Rail transport of Corporate Enterprise Thermal Power Plants "NikolaTesla" in Obrenovac will start the project of railway modernization from Obrenovac to Vreoci worth one million euros.

The works include installation of fiber-optic cable, and the entire project will be done in phases this year and the next, 2015. Installing fiber optic cable with a length of about 60 kilometers will provide the latest and the most efficient form of the so-called instantaneous communication with all important centers in TENT, "Electric Power Industry of Serbia" and "Power Transmission Company" (EPS and EMS).

The railway from Obrenovac to Vreoci is the most burdened railroad section in Europe where 60 train compositions pass daily in one direction and the same number in the other. On average 90,000 tons of cargo is transported daily, mainly Kolubara lignite for power plants in Obrenovac. 

Works in the first phase will last from August to October, and during this period there will be no delay in the railway or road traffic in the direction from Obrenovac to Vreoci.
