Revitalization and overhaul of unit A2 at TPP “Nikola Tesla” officially started on July 1, 2014 with dismantling works on boiler piping system, refractory structures and thermal insulation, and it is the most important work this year that will be carried out at CE TENT in Obrenovac. Serious and comprehensive works on this unit will last for 180 days, involving around thirty local and foreign companies. Total value of the project, funded by both “Electric Power Industry of Serbia” and CE TENT, amounts to EUR 80 million. Reminding that the revitalization works are divided into 9 lots, Mr. Sveto Dobrijevic, Lot 1-6 and Lot 9 leader, placed an emphasis on the start of the project:

- LOT 1 is planned for interventions on the boiler piping system, worth EUR 10 million. There is also a replacement of a section of ECO 1 and 2(235 t), replacement of a section of SH 3 (30 t) and SH 5 (114 t), after that replacement of RH1 with hangings(150 t) and RH2 (75 t), as well as replacement of inlet and outlet headers of ECO 1 and 2, inlet and outlet headers of RH1 and outlet header of RH2. The works that has started are running according to the plan, and so far there’s no major problems. Despite the difficulties caused by floods in May (when many employees were left without their homes, and the beginning of the project, instead of May 1, was postponed for July 1) a positive climate was created. Employees of TENT, PRO TENT and construction companies, encouraged by the solidarity of colleagues from abroad, were united around a common goal - to revitalize and repair unit A-3 in high quality, on time and within the set financial limits, said Dobrijević.

Upon project finalization, new kilowatts of electricity, from unit TENT A3, should be provided by the end of December 2014. In addition to the extension of service life, increase of reliability and energy efficiency during operation, as well as reduction of negative impact on the environment, "unit three" will be stronger for about 23 MW after the overhaul (from current 305 to 328,4 МW). In the largest Power Plant on the Balkans, this will be the third unit with increased power, which is very important for domestic electric power industry, since there are no new capacities in Serbia.
