CE TENT IS READY FOR WINTER

Experts of CE TENT held two presentations on October 15, the third day of the Fair, one on current overhaul works at TENT A (Unit A3 overhaul), and the second on protecting TENT facilities from May floods. CE TENT presented itself as a modern European company in which, in addition to the primary business activity- energy generation, special attention is paid to risk management, safety and health at work.

I can say that situation is normal at TENT, because there are two major overhauls that we planned - Overhaul of unit A-1, which ends on October 23 and Overhaul of unit A-3, which will be completed before new year. Once these overhauls are completed, we will be able to work at full load. For now, without these two units, we fulfill our goal, even some units are in cold reserve, or working at the technical minimum. Since there are no demands of the market made, nor the need for increased spending, at this point there is no reason to involve all the capacities, said Mr. Čedomir Ponoćko, Director of TENT, speaking on the operational readiness for the upcoming winter season. Answering to a reporter's question about the supply of coal, Ponoćko explained:

If the weather conditions are favorable, it is estimated that we would be able to spend winter period with the available quantities. However, since the long-term forecasts are not very reliable, it is up to us to prepare as if the winter will be severe, causing EPS to start procurement of coal. Expert consideration will show what is cost-effective - whether to purchase coal or electricity. It should be borne in mind that our units use low-calorie lignite, which is hardly cost effective when purchased from distant mines, since the transport is very expensive. Since we have not had similar experiences and this is our first time, it remains to see whether we will succeed and whether it is possible to operate in this manner at all – said the director of the largest producer of Serbian electricity.

Within the presentation of flood prevention at CE TENT, visitors had the opportunity to see a short informative film titled "Lessons for the Future," which was prepared by the Department of Public Relations and Information at TENT. The film shows the chronology of the May floods in Obrenovac and Serbia, with emphasis on the negative consequences of the production branches TENT (TENT A, TENT B and RT in Obrenovac, TPP "Kolubara A" and Veliki Crljeni and TPP "Morava" in Svilajnac) and the EPS as a whole. A special segment of the film dealt with the functioning of the Risk Management Department, as well as TENT management and staff during emergencies.

Otherwise the movie "The Lessons for the future" was premiered at this year's International Fair of prevention and emergency response and health and safety at work "112 EXPO" in Belgrade, where it attracted much attention and received positive reviews, especially by experts.
