„Unit 1“ successfully connected to the grid

The first, the oldest unit in TPP „Nikola Tesla A“,was successfully connected to the power grid on October 24, after the major overhaul that lasted for 100 days,and it was connected one day earlier than.

Apart from the comprehensive activities particularly the major ones on the turbine plant as well as on other parts of the plant on unit A1, which operated for more than 280 000 hours during several decades of operation, project assessment of remaining service life of the turbine was done.

This project will define the condition of material and equipment, and the final goal is getting information for decision-making in which modes, in which way and how to exploit unit A-1, that operates, otherwise, in the district heating mode, said Mihailo Nikolić, Director of TENT A, noting that the supervision and delivery of spare parts for turbine and estimated working life were entrusted to "Alstom" - Croatia.

In addition to the current revitalization of unit A-3, the remaining generators A-1, A-2, A-4, A-5 and A-6 are, after this year's quality and timely overhauls, in a stable and operating mode and available to power system before the winter season.
