TEK A-2 TURBO AGGREGATE SYNCHRONIZED

Turbo aggregate A-2 at TPP "Kolubara A" in Veliki Crljeni was synchronized to the grid on 28 October, after a six-month outage because of failures. As previously announced, synchronization of turbo aggregate A-1 is expected until 24 November. According to Radoslav Milanović, Director of TEK, it is very important for heating of Veliki Crljeni as units A-1 and A-2 operate in heating mode, as well as the delivery of technological steam to "Continental".

However, the first Serbian thermal power plant, which recently celebrated 58 years of operation, has suffered the most severe damages in its long history during this year’s floods. First there was a flood (May 15) then fire broke out (May 16) and they together destroyed three transformers and entire switchgear with control system, causing a damage of about 3.3 MEUR to the oldest unit of CE TENT. Although at first it seemed that the power plant will not work anymore, thanks to the support of the Government of Serbia, line Ministry and the "Electric Power Industry of Serbia", as well as engagement of TENT and TEK management as soon as July 15 its largest unit A-5, installed capacity of 110 MW, was on the grid.

It is estimated that after the synchronization of turbo aggregate A-1 and A-2 and the repair of damaged plants (three transformers and switchgear with control system) EPS and TENT oldest unit will be able to operate normally in the upcoming period.
