The 31st International Conference “Energy 2015” was opened yesterday at the Congress Centre Serbia at Zlatibor Mountain which has been organised by the Association of Serbian Energy.

Five discussion forums will be held at the conference. Those discussions will be dedicated to developing challenges at PE EPS, NIS Company, PE “Serbiagas”, domestic electro-mechanical engineering, domestic utility energetic sector and domestic education system in current political, economic and other conditions in the country and abroad. More than 100 scientific articles of domestic and foreign experts and among them five articles done by engineering teams at PE TPP NT will be presented during scientific part “Energy 2015” in the presence of representatives from the Republic Serbian Government, PE EPS, Military Academy, representatives from Russia, China, Romania, Republika Srpska, Slovenia, Croatia, Macedonia and numerous companies from energetic sector, Mr Zoran Rajić, the State Secretary at Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection opened the conference. He wished success in work at all participants and said that that Ministry together with Ministry of Economy works at finding ways in creating conditions for mire efficient operation in energy sector and in economy as well.

Mr Miloš Banjac, Deputy Minister of Mining and Energy said that regardless of bad predictions, energy still represented the backbone of every economic system.

- In respect to ensuring safe supply, in other words, ensuring sufficient quantity of energy sources for undisturbed economic development of Serbia, but at the same time, taking care of having the least negative impact to environment, and also unconditional need for energy system protection and own energetic companies, Ministry of Mining and Energy has prepared, among other legal documents, the new Energy Law, which was enacted at the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in December last year, said Mr Miloš Banjac. He also added that in that legislative act the new group of EU directives, so called the third energy package, were implemented. According to him, enacting the whole secondary legislations were in progress, and till the end of this year, Ministry planed to enact two more important documents. Those two important documents are: new Energy Sector Development Strategy of republic of Serbia by 2025, as well as National Plan for decreasing the emission of powder substances, sulphur dioxide and nitrous oxide. This document should implement directives about combustion chambers and industrial emissions. Both plans should be enacted till the end of this year and they would be done in cooperation with representatives from PE EPS.

On behalf of Supervisory Board at PE EPS, participants of the conference were welcomed by Mr Aleksandar Gajić, member of this Board. He expressed belief that the new organisation at PE EPS, which should be finalised in three months, would enable efficient managing of that large system.

Mr Čedomir Ponoćko, general manager at CE TPP NT addressed to participants in the opening part. He emphasised several times the importance of existing potentials which Serbia has in energy sector.

- We have to appreciate what we have and to exploit it on the best possible way. I think that CE TPP NT is, practically, one “cash cow” which should be taken care of. Saying that I think of the whole system, including MB “Kolubara” because, just that whole gives good result. I respect and appreciate sector which is based at renewable energy source, but we have to have in mind that the price of kW from these power plants is much higher regarding to price of kW which is produced in thermal power plants. Just rich countries could afford that kind of price. We cannot afford it and that is the reason why we have to respect what we have, and we have two large hydro systems, one on the Danube River and one on the Drina River, and also two thermo systems, TPP NT A and TPP NT B together with MB “Kolubara” and “Kostolac” with its coal mine, said Mr Čedomir Ponoćko.

A film entitled “The second youth of the Unit A3” which is dedicated to recently finished revitalisation and overhaul of this facility and made by the Department of Public Relation and Information in CE TPP NT was shown at the introductory part of the conference.

During the first afternoon session, which started working part of the conference, one article made by experts from CE TPP NT was presented. Mr Glišo Klasnić in the name of the team of authors (other authors are Mr Zoran Božović, Mr Ljubiša Mihailović and Mr Miroslav Tomašević) presented the article about installing the new generator corset at the Unit A3. He informed the present participants about everything what was done at the facility and about technical condition of the equipment which led to necessary change and replace of the generator corset at the Unit A3. Furthermore, he specified technical improvement and implemented modernisation at installed equipment which enabled increase of nominal parameters, necessary adaptation at kept auxiliary subsystems, as well as about modern magnets and temperature monitoring of vital parts of equipment with allowed temperature tensions.

General sponsor of this International Conference “Energy 2015” is Mitsubishi Hitachi Power System Europe, and other sponsors are Ministry of Mining and Energy, Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection, Ministry of Economy, PKS, PE EPS, PE EMS, NIS Company and PE “Srbijagas”.
