Technological innovations for quicker society progress

In Svilajnac, on 7th of April, 2015 was held presentation of competition for best technological innovation where Mr Prof Dr Dragan Povrenović, coordinator of the competition, Mr Predrag Lučić, acting manager of Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kragujevac, and Ms Marija Stevanović, manager at TPP “Morava” in Svilajnac spoke.

Competition for best technological innovation in Serbia, as state project, has been continuously held from 2005. This year the organiser as well as previous years is Ministry of Education, Science and Technical Development in cooperation with Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, Radio Television of Serbia and Faculty of Technical Sciences in University of Novi Sad.

Ms Marija Stevanović, manager at TPP “Morava” has greeted as host around a hundred of attendance. She invited all interested to participate at this competition because without innovations there is not society progress.

Project coordinator Mr Prof Dr Dragan Povrenović said that during last ten years at this competition participated 2 244 teams and over 6 600 participants. Only on the basis of participating at competition and acquiring the knowledge which they gained during the practice, 75 new firm has opened where are several hundred new employed. Mr Dragan Milošević and Mr Goran Stanković, employees at Thermal Power Plant “Morava” also participated at this competition with the project about pollen dryer.

Wish of competition organiser is that this year gathers a greater number of partners, from individuals and institutions to local governments, large economic companies and the media. He specially emphasised that this is very important for young innovators who should stay in Serbia. He also underlined that state and the government have to create better ambience and significantly increase money extraction for this purpose because developed countries invest in innovations more than dozens of times than us. As it was said, prize money has been provided for best participants.

Mr Predrag Lučić, from Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kragujevac promised full support for the project and more active involving at the competition.
