CE TPP NT AMONG AWARDED WITH THE CHARTER “28TH OF APRIL” FOR 2014
Economic Association Thermal Power Plant “Nikola Tesla” Obrenovac is one of the awarded with the Charter “28th of April” for 2014 and on the occasion of making the International Day for safety and health of the employees and the Day for safety and health of the employees in Republic of Serbia.
Great National award in the field of Safety and Health of the Employees (SHE) which has been traditionally awarded by Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs (Directorate for Safety and Health of the Employees) has been given to TPP NT representatives on the formal ceremony held at Central Military Club in Belgrade.
The ceremony started with performing national anthem “Bože pravde” and composition “Vostani Serbie”. After that Mr Aleksandar Vulin, Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs, Mr Duško Vuković, president of the Union of Civil Engineering Employees and construction material industry in Serbia, Mr Branislav Čanak, president of United Confederation “INDEPENDENCE” and Mr Nebojša Atanacković, president of Serbian Association of Employers greeted all the participants of the ceremony.
- Investing in safety and health of the employees is not expensive and it is very important. Investing in safety today, we invest in tomorrow and future. The biggest possible saving is someone’s health and life. This is not just moral and legal obligation, but economy category as well. Having healthy, uninjured and capable worker actually means that you have profit. The highest interest of this ministry is to have as less injures during work and as much of workers become pensioners. Without you, who are here today, without your whish and awareness that it is necessary to save health and lives of the employees, without your commitment, effort and energy, all of these would not be possible. You are example and I hope that other will start to behave like you, said minister Vulin and congratulated all the awarded.
National award “28th of April” (Plaque, Charter, Letter of Thanks) for achieved results in the field of Safety and Health of the Employees for 2014, received 26 laureates – state and private companies, scientific institutions and credible individuals. Letters of Thanks were given in three categories and TPP NT shared the third place with following companies; “JT International” AD Senta and “Apatin Brewery” Apatin.
Emphasising that CE TPP NT with its 14 units is factory with high risks, Mr Mihailo Nikolić, acting manager at CE TPP NT said thanks to award and also said the following:
- Regarding to working conditions of our employees and contractors, TPP NT respect and maintain high European standards and this will continue to do in future so we would keep safety and health of the employees. Saying thanks to sector for risk management, in previous year there were reduced number of injuries during work and thanks to that fact we are among awarded today. However, in this field, you can never finish all because all the time you should work on the prevention, education of the employees, applying regulations and standards and improving the system for safety and health of the employees.
After the ceremony one of the last year’s awarded Mr Mauro Magarelli, general manager at JCMM Automotive Kragujevac spoke about initiative of improving safety and health of the employees in Republic of Serbia. It was also shown a film “What would you feel if loved one come did not come back at home” awarded at 20th world congress of SHE held in Frankfurt in 2014.
In artistic part of the programme the choir from “Davorin Jenko” musical school has performed conducted by Ms Slavica Smiljanić Marković. Violinist Ms Sofija Glavičić accompanied by a pianist Ms Ana Kovačević was also performed.
