The Unit A2 spent 194 days of continual operation on the grid

Last night at TPP NT A in Obrenovac the Unit A2 achieved the best result in continual operation, it spent 194 days or 4 667 hours of operation on the electrical grid of Serbia without interruption. One of the oldest facilities at CE TPP NT with power of 210 MW, which was synchronised on the grid on September, 29th 1970 for the first time, with this result it achieved an absolute record in continuous operation of units at all TPP NT A. Earlier record in continual operation which lasted 110 days, the Unit A2 achieved in 1988. The previous best result of continual operation on the grid between two shut downs achieved the Unit A4 which lasted 180 days in 2011. The Unit A2 was continually on the grid from 22nd of October 2014 till 4th of May 2015 when at 22.33 hours it should shut down due to break of boiler pipeline system. From the first synchronisation till last night this unit spent on the grid 300 007 hours in total and in that period it produced and delivered 49 billion 240 million kWh of electric energy.

- This year overhaul is going to be performed at the Unit A2 and it will lasted 120 days. On of the most significant works at this unit, which are planed to start on July, 1st 2015 will be the overhaul of the turbine, parts of the boiler pipeline system will be replaced and sealing between platforms of the boiler will be done, said Mr Savo Bezmarević, chief engineer in production department at TPP NT A. The Unit A2 together with the Unit A1 of the same power, this year will celebrate a jubilee, 45 years of successful operation.
