Sustainable development
More than 40 years of reliable energy supply from CE TENT power plants confirmed the initial founding development strategy of our company.
We became and remain reliable and environment friendly electricity power generation partner of Serbian industry and society.
CE TENT completed several modernization cycles which were supported by Electric Power of Serbia and our international donors and partners from European Union. Modernization and overhauls of our power gen facilities increased the reliability and efficiency of our units as well a number of environmental protection measures.
The coal use was decreased significantly but we also upgraded one of our units, A6 output power was increased for 40MW. Our ESP modernization projects provided excellent results proven in emission monitoring, all in accordance with current international regulations and standards.
Partners in modernization
During the modernization of our facilities we cooperated with a number of domestic Serbian and international partners. Alstom completed the turbine works, Rafako our boilers but also other companies like Doosan Babcock and Hitachi Power Europe gave their quality inputs on a number of projects. Out of many Serbian companies we cooperated successfully with Rudnap Group Minel Kotlogradnja, Viaocel, Izoprogres, Gosa Montaza, Termoelektro, Termoelektro Entel, Feromont etc. Serbian engineering institutes "Mihajlo Pupin" and "Nikola Tesla" as well as professors from Electrical and Machine faculties assisted TENT in obtaining knowledge for works which were previously done by foreign companies. With this local know how upgrade TENT managed to upgrade its internal capacities and resources in many key areas of production and controlling of the processes.
Development Plans
According to the middle term development plan of TENT for 2012-2017 this kind of strategy implementation approach will be continued. By end of this projected time frame we are planning to increase the output power on our units B1, B2, A3, A4 and A5. We will continue working on units efficiency and fulfillment of environmental standards. With this measures we will increase production for 3,5 bil Kwh and save more than 500.000 tons of coal per year. For completion of this plans 1,1 bil euro is needed. Out of that sum, 600 mil euro for environment projects and 500 mil euro for further modernization and upgrade of the power gen facilities, with this measures we will basically get another 400MW unit.
As a result of this plans we expect to gain multiple benefits: increase the electricity production, save the coal and maintain the environment protection level in accordance with European standards.
Looking into 2017
With completion and realization of all plans from our development strategy, CE TENT will take the place which belongs to us, South East Europe regional Power Generation leader. With New Energy law passed in 2011, the space for energy market liberalization is open. Big consumers will be allowed as of 2013 to select their supplier on open market, small companies and households will have the same possibility as of October 2012.
Starting from 1st January 2015 the electricity price will be determined by Serbian Energy Agency and after the full market opening is projected. In the same time the electricity price will no longer remain a social category but will be determined by market, influenced by economical factors.
CE TENT will be fully prepared for market unbundling and opening, with confidence in internal resources, influence position in the country but also fully aware of its potentials and competitiveness.
