For the current environmental investments significant funds were coming from donations. System for collection, transport and disposal of ash at TENT B cost EUR 32 million, of which EUR 28 million were EU donations (through European Agency for Reconstruction). The new technology reduces the ash being blown by the wind, which is now mixed with water in 1:1 ratio (the ratio used to be 1:10).

The construction of new ash disposal system prevents the ash to be blown by the wind at 400 ha dump site, the amount of water for ash transport has been reduced ten times which permanently stopped the pollution of ground waters.

Together with the World Environment Day (June,5), on June,4 at TPP Kolubara the system for hydraulic transport of ash was officialy commissioned (after probationary period). This finally solved one of the biggest environmental problems in Veliki Crljeni, ie. In the area of Lazarevac.

The same system is planned to be constructed at TENT A by the end of 2014, and it is expected to be the most demanding and complex one. The Project on reconstruction of the system for collection, preparation and disposal of ash and slag has been set up. The Feasibility study and Study on Assessment of environmental impact also have been done. The project has applied for EU from which it is expected to provide certain funds through donations and current programs for implementation of this project. Estimated cost of the project is EUR 45 million.
