Reconstruction of electrostatic precipitators (ESP)

Modernization of ESP followed only after the reconstruction of furnaces and other facilities in order to improve combustion and increase energy efficiency. Emission of solid particles is reduced to the limit stipulated by the law, up to 50mg/m3 of flue gas. About EUR 36 million was invested in ESP reconstrauction of units TENT А1, А2, А4, А5, А6 and ТPP Kolubara А5 and emission of dust in TENT ltd. was reduced by 80% compared to 2002. In 2011 the ESP reconstruction was done in TENT B2, the second biggest unit in the region. Contracted value of the project is EUR 9.1million, of which the important part is a donation of the Eurpean Union (EUR 5.481.000). The rest of the funds has been covered from the Fund for environmental protection (EUR 1.8 million) and from own funds (EUR 1.82 million). In this year the reconstruction of ESP on unit B1 is in progress whereas the reconstruction of ESP on unit A3 is planned for 2013, and TPP Morava for 2014. Total planned funds for these works amounts to EUR 20 million.
