Prevention of adverse effects of waste on land and water (Storage for temporary waste disposal, Purification of oily waste waters)

Waste, classified as hazardous or nonhazardous, occurs during normal operation and overhaul. Generated waste is stored in the warehouse for temporary storage at each location of CE TENT. Much of the waste collected, in order to reduce the negative environmental impact, is sold, conceded or given away to a third party for a fee, ie. disposal of waste.

In 2011 the contracts were signed on the disposal of hazardous industrial waste from CE TENT ltd. Obrenovac doo for the following types of waste and with the following authorized firms:

- Waste mixed oils and waste absorton means with oil and fuel oil - with the company Modekolo ltd Belgrade,

- waste metal packaging from oils and grease, and waste plastic packaging from chemicals – with the company Jugo - Impeks Nis and

- waste PCB transformers with the company Mitek - Knezevac ltd. Belgrade

Also, CE TENT has signed contracts on ash sale with the firms: Titan-Kosjeric, Construction company Sloboda and cement factory Lafarz. Since April 2011 the contract was made with the firm NEKSE, Novi Sad, witch exports ash to Croatia.

In December 2011. the contract was concluded between the company ECO yard from Obrenovac (the company has permission to collect and transport nonhazardous waste issued by the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning) and CE TENT ltd. Ltd. The subject of the contract was to establish business and technical cooperation between the parties, to prevent and reduce harmful effects on the environment. From January 2012, paper - cardboard packaging waste began being collected. 94 boxes were placed in A and 30 boxes in TENT B. So far over one ton of paper and cardboard was collected. The contract was made with the same firm on takingover of PET packaging, as far as 2010. For this purpose, 11 containers were placed in TENT A and 9 in TENT B. Collected amount of PET packaging on monthly level per Power Plant is 200-330kg. Part of the income earned by ECO yard is used to educate citizens and help schools in Obrenovac, and they regularly provide information on this to CE TENT ltd..

The first version of a Waste Management Plan was adopted in due time, in June 2010 . During the preparation of project documentation for the waste warehouses a need to revise the Waste Management Plan arrised, so the new version was adopted in February 2012. The new plan was prepared by the Institut Kirilo Savic, from Belgrade, with the cooperation of employees of CE TENT ltd. on all locations.

For all four locations of CE TENT ltd the building of a warehouse for temporary waste disposal was planned, in accordance with the new legislation. The Institute Cyril Savic has made a Preliminary design with feasibility study, and Mašinoprojekt kopring did the Study of assessment of impact of the warehouse on the environment. Impact assessment studies are in the process of getting approval from the Ministry of Environment, Mining and Spatial Planning.

Waste waters

For the problem of waste (oily, coaled, sanitation ...) waters, solution is sought in the construction of plants for wastewater treatment. Preliminary designs are made with feasibility studies for the plants for the treatment of wastewaters in TENT A and TENT B. Assessment Study on the impact of plant for wastewater treatment, for TENT B is in the process of obtaining approval of the Ministry.
